How about we vote in a law that puts a cap on how long a government shut down can happen… say 20 days… before the president has to agree to a budget solution or else the 21st day congress begins the process of impreachment because civilian jobs and salaries and livelihoods are not a bargaining tool for the president to abuse is order to get their way

good news, you can! the company’s called Tony’s Chocolonely and their entire purpose is to make slave-free chocolate and reform the chocolate industry.
Whole Foods carries it. If you don’t want to support an Amazon-owned company, World Market carries it. You can also buy it directly from the company.
It’s the best chocolate I’ve ever had and it’s 100% slave free. Tony’s Chocolonely works really hard to push for transparency within the chocolate industry and actually has and is following an action plan to eliminate slavery within cocoa production. They’re good people who make good chocolate.
like for real… there are so many cultures and faiths that consume animals ethically. we don’t source our meat from mass industries that abuse animals and we utilise the entire animal for food or clothing. there are rituals and prayers unique to different cultures that are done to thank animals for their sacrifice, or concepts similar. Those who follow Islam and Judaism (who eat Halal and Kosher Meat, respectively) are required to kill the animal in the most painless way possible. stop telling us that what we’re doing is wrong and immoral when your expensive vegan products are sourced from companies that destroy land belonging to Native Americans or exploit people of colour to do their underpaid labour. Be mindful of other cultures and stop grouping us in with the white meat-eaters.

my problem with this post is that if you argue this way you could also be justifying and agreeing with the forced circumcision of young women, which is still being executed today in some parts of the world, also because of their religion and tradition
maybe it is time that we accept that our ,traditions’ cannot be a justification for harming other sentient beings
